ASL work with developers, private individuals and official bodies in planning situations where an archaeologist is required, by law, to record below ground archaeological remains, as well as to record upstanding buildings.
This may also be at the pre-application stage, where we act as advisors and consultants or as the result of conditions placed on planning consent obtained for small scale development. This may be for individual dwellings, such as extensions, through to larger development sites for new builds. If a planning condition has been placed on your planning consent, we can arrange for all mitigation in relation to the archaeological aspects, which includes working with architects, project managers and building contractors. All aspects of project management for the archaeological monitoring are undertaken before work begins, through to final reporting and discharge of planning conditions, giving you peace of mind.
